Transportation Fleet Clerk at thyssenkrupp Supply Chain Services NA, Inc. in Livermore, California

Job Description:

Planned Schedule: Monday - Friday plus Mandatory Saturdays, (3:00am - 11:30am)

• Communicate with drivers, dispatchers, supervisors, and customers


• Begin Inbound/Outbound yard walk no later than 330am (PINC updating)


• Inbound / Outbound Yard Walks, (fleet & safety aspects)


• Ensure to communicate with all customers and suppliers in a professional and courteous manner


• Responsible for administrative duties of the area


• Assist in upholding DOT standards as it relates to transportation equipment


• Ensure that working conditions are safe and conducted in a fair manner at all times, including Behavioral Observations


• Maintain written/computerized records and other forms of information


• Complete reports on time


• Participate, support and comply with all health, safety, and 6S initiatives/ requirements


• All other duties assigned by reporting Manager/Supervisor


• Report out trailer repairs needed to Mckinney no later than 5am to secure on site repair time daily


• Review DVIR's from previous day & File DVIRs as needed


• Separate DVIR (Red tagged) from (Needs attention)


• Physically verify all red tags at Discovery/Atlantis


• Audit Driver DVIR / DTIR process and escalate concerns to appropriate personnel


• Update equipment tracker with red tagged equipment and repaired equipment


• Schedule recovery of trailers/tractor that are ready from Peterson/Stockton/Mckinney


• Communicate red tags that have been removed/resolved to Supervisors/Dispatch


• Check for upcoming trailer/tractor annual inspections/90 day inspections


• Assist department with monthly HUB readings


• Attend meetings with Site and Customer Leadership regarding Yard concerns

Required:

• High school diploma or equivalent


• 1-2 years experience in Transportation or similar role


• 2+ years of customer service experience


• Previous use of Excel, Word, and other Microsoft Office software


• Ability to work weekends when required

Preferred:

• Class A CDL


• High level of professionalism, strong sense of urgency, and excellent customer service skills


• Previous experience in dispatching
