Work Environment:                                             
Engineer will work primarily in office environment with some work being accomplished at aircraft maintenance facilities and other locations as required to support project activity and for hands on interface with aircraft and maintenance personnel.

Avionics Engineering supports the UPS fleet of A300, 747, 757, 767, and MD-11 cargo aircaft by maintaining airworthiness and regulatory compliance as required by the FAA.  Aircraft Engineering position requires experience in aircraft avionic systems, federal regulations, development of modifications/repairs, project planning, and project management.  Responsibilites include, but are not limited to, aircraft configuration management, certification approvals, airworthiness directives, data analysis, project development and implementation, and oversight of aircraft/component reliability solutions, repairs, and modifications. Ideal candidates for positions wil possess the following desired skills and qualifications:

  • Strong electrical aptitude
  • Hands-on approach to projects
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Ability to demonstrate clear verbal and written communication skills
  • Positive attitude and ability to work well with others

Required Skills:                                             
Minimum of three (3) year experience of aviation industry related engineering experience. Bachelor's degree in Aerospace or Electrical Engineering required. Applicant should be computer literate in basic office software, have CAD experience, and have good mechanical background with aptitude to hands-on projects. 

Additional Skills:                                             
Working knowledge of FAA regulations (14CFR25) associated with structural repairs.

Interpersonal Skills:                                             
Applicant should possess strong verbal and written communication skills, demonstrate a positive attitude, and have the ability to work well with others at all levels within Aircraft Maintenance & Engineering.

 

 

 

As part of the UPS pre-employment process for a safety sensitive position. A drug screen is required. UPS must receive a negative test result before you can be put into a safety sensitive position (14 CFR Part 120.107 (a) 4).
