Role Summary:

This role is responsible for setting the overall strategy and implementing capabilities in eCommerce analytics, becoming a key member of the North America Kimberly-Clark Professional (KCP) team in reaching their revenue goals. It requires outstanding communication and influencing skills. Must be able to communicate complex ideas and findings in a succinct, easy-to-understand way. Ability to help the business articulate their critical questions, formulate hypotheses and illuminate results is essential. Consistent collaboration with internal teams, agency partners, and channel partners like Amazon, is also key.

This individual will set the standards to better measure and improve the business. This work includes establishing KPIs and standardized reports, as well as analyzing data to produce optimization recommendations for digital shelf, pricing, media, and assortment. Must be able to analyze media, merchandizing, and marketing spend for impact on sales, profit, and market share. The role will help deploy new capabilities, such as digital shelf auditing, and partner closely with IT to deploy relevant capabilities in foundational data integration and visualization. The role will provide holistic strategy and recommendations for eCommerce pricing optimizations that can drive meaningful financial benefit. The use of channel partner data systems, syndicated data, and other KCP data will be used to develop learning plans and eCommerce tests that produce actionable learning for reapplication. The ability to think strategically and also be hands-on technically is critical to success.

For the purpose of this work, eCommerce is defined as selling B2B products online through retailer and distributor partners such as Amazon, Staples, and Grainger.

Key Accountabilities:

eCommerce Analytics Plan


  • Create and execute an eCommerce analytics strategy that drives better business outcomes, including pricing optimization.


  • Align on a methodology for measuring KCP eCommerce sales and market share.


  • Deliver KCP eCommerce sales reports and market share by brand, business category, and retailer/distributor.


  • Define & align test plans across key stakeholders.


  • Work with eCommerce team to execute testing plan, publish results, and implement optimization recommendations.


  • Develop a recommendation for the tools, resources, budget, and partners that are required to execute local or regional learning plans.


  • Synthesize findings with key stakeholders.


  • Advocate for and adopt new technologies that drive new analytics capabilities.


Data Strategy, Systems & Integration


  • Execute advanced analytics to compliment the data strategy.


  • Lead data gathering from all sources to ensure quality/validity of data and analysis, with extremely strong attention to detail.


  • Ensure integration of data and analytics, where appropriate, into a central database.


  • Ensure the usage of third-party tools (e.g., Clavis, One Click Retail) are maximized.


  • Lead the democratization of data for better decision making and spend allocation.


Operational Responsibilities


  • Available for distributor & retailer team meetings to help define and plan for specific programs, tests, and execution.


  • Define overall eCommerce data and resource needs.


  • Develop eCommerce standard metrics and integrate into existing testing and reporting/scorecards.


  • Conduct regular KCP community education sessions on eCommerce best practices.


Organization:


  • The role is a part of the KCP North America eCommerce team, reporting into the team’s Leader of NA eCommerce Growth and Analytics. 


  • This person will work closely with other members of the eCommerce team in North America. The role will work with a variety of internal stakeholders across marketing, sales, finance, and IT – including the Global Customer & Market Intelligence (CMI) team.


Qualifications:


  • Strong leadership and change management skills.


  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team, with all levels of management (senior executives to junior-level staff), is essential.


  • Must be pro-active in positively changing business results by acting and thinking differently.


  • Highly analytical, confident and persuasive leader with a successful track record in building cross functional / geographical boundary relationships using analytics to influence senior leaders in developing and implementing both tactical and strategic plans.


  • Excellent understanding of data management and ability to use tools like Excel to organize data, create reports, and deliver meaningful insights & recommendations.


  • Excellent visual & design skills in data representation.


  • Strong knowledge of front-end tools including Power BI, Tableau and SAP Business Objects.


  • Experience with Alteryx or similar tool preferred.


  • Strong background in HANA and SAP BW systems preferred.


  • Knowledge of advanced analytics a plus (data science, predictive analytics, artificial intelligence, etc.).


  • Solid understanding of digital marketing tactics (PPC, SEO, etc.) and metrics.


  • Experience implementing and/or running research studies to understand eCommerce customer journeys & path to purchase.


  • 10+ years of experience in the use and interpretation of eCommerce data & analytics.


  • Experience working with data from eCommerce partners (Amazon, Staples, etc.) preferred.


  • Experience in a B2B environment preferred.


  • Excellent written, analytical and communication skills.


  • Bachelor’s degree; advanced degree preferred.
