You will gain invaluable industry and organizational knowledge through daily business interactions and job assignments, in addition to engaging in projects that directly affect our business, interact with senior leaders in conversational settings, and network with employees and interns across our regional offices.
Role Description
The Instructional Technologist position is part of the Learning and Development business area of Strategy, Governance and Enablement and is responsible for the analysis, design, and development of eLearning to support our SGE, EBTS, Group Benefits and Guardian. Partnering closely with the L&D management team and peers, an Instructional Technologist works collaboratively to provide support for our clients while covering multiple aspects of Guardian's products and services.
Opportunities for this internship are focused on delivering industry-leading eLearning solutions, for Strategy, Governance and Enablement, and can include the following types of assignments:

• Assisting in the creation of eLearning content that will support our SGE, EBTS, Group Benefits and Guardian
• Learning and utilizing Microsoft Office 365 applications and Articulate 360 to support the development of eLearning content
• Shadowing GLS Instructional Technologists to gain exposure to the corporate learning function - activities could include observing/participating in training needs analysis, and the training design and delivery process where appropriate - such methods will follow adult learning theory and include: instructor-led (in-person or webinar), e-learning, self-study, social learning & collaboration tools, video, etc.
• Understanding the broader Learning and Development organization and the business units/roles that are supported by our Learning Specialists

Education/Qualification:

• Enrolled in Undergraduate Degree Program (preferably, focused on Learning, Organizational Development, Education, Instructional Technology, Communications, Marketing, Human Resources)
• Strong communication skills (oral/written)
• Microsoft office skills (primarily PowerPoint, Word, Excel)
• Articulate 360 or comparable software background
• Creative problem-solving skills
