Job Description:

Summary




  • Position Summary



    • The Ward Secretary performs clerical duties for the Unit and acts as receptionist to patients and visitors arriving in the department. Utilizes computer to update pertinent patient information. This is a rotating schedule, 24 hours one week and 32 hours the following week.  Performs Certified Nurses Assistant (CNA) duties as appropriate for the unit and as qualified.




  • Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)



    • Education: High school diploma, general education degree (GED) or equivalent is preferred.


    • License/Certifications: Active Certified Nursing Assistant (Maine) desired. BCLS certification, MOAB annually as directed by department.


    • Experience: Medical secretarial background and knowledge of medical terminology preferred.


    • Detail-oriented and able to complete projects independently
