The Ward Secretary performs clerical duties for the Unit and acts as receptionist to patients and visitors arriving in the department. Utilizes computer to update pertinent patient information. This is a rotating schedule, 24 hours one week and 32 hours the following week. Performs Certified Nurses Assistant (CNA) duties as appropriate for the unit and as qualified.
Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)
Education: High school diploma, general education degree (GED) or equivalent is preferred.
License/Certifications: Active Certified Nursing Assistant (Maine) desired. BCLS certification, MOAB annually as directed by department.
Experience: Medical secretarial background and knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
Detail-oriented and able to complete projects independently
