As the primary software development engineer in test (SDET), you will play a key role in supporting and enabling our growing software engineering organization, which is responsible for developing both desktop and web applications. As an experienced programmer, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining our automated testing frameworks and tools used by the development and QA teams. You'll work closely with our DevOps team to achieve more robust and scalable testing and reporting platforms. This is a hands-on engineering position with opportunity for technical leadership exposure and career growth.

Job Responsibilities

• Evaluate, recommend, and implement automated testing tools and strategies
• Maintain and enhance the functionality of our internally developed (C++/Python) modeling engine testing tool
• Configure and maintain our third-party BDD test frameworks and work with QA to provide a user-friendly environment for manual testers to create test cases
• Configure and maintain our end-to-end testing frameworks and advise developers on robust testing strategies for desktop and web applications
• Provide technical leadership in the architecture of and implement our test coverage and QA dashboard monitoring capabilities
• Design automated Python API test cases for our desktop software
• Work with DevOps team to integrate automated tools and reporting into CI/CD pipeline
• Work with QA and development teams to understand and prioritize feature enhancement requests

Required Qualifications

• Team player who enjoys supporting and working with others
• B.S in Computer Science or related field
• Minimum 8 years professional experience in software development, automation engineering, or similar role
• Expert in Python, able to independently architect and implement robust and scalable software
• Proficient with UI/BDD and end-to-end testing tools
• Experience with Git, Mercurial, or SVN
• Experience working on both Windows and Linux
• Independent and systematic work style and excellent attention to detail
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Preferred Qualifications
Experience in the following areas would be a bonus:

• C++, Qt, or JavaScript
• Froglogic Squish, SmartBear TestComplete, SmartBear Cucumber, or Cypress.io
• TeamCity or Jenkins
• Working as part of a Scrum or other Agile software team
• Managing projects by gathering requirements, aligning stakeholders, defining deliverables, and tracking execution
