The Impact You’ll Make in this Role

As a 3M Food Safety Field Sales Representative, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the worlds.  Here you will make an impact by:


  • Managing Midwest Territory of SW Wisconsin, N. Illinois and E. Iowa Territory to drive and support growth with 3M Food Safety Products

  • Implementing and executing on business priorities

  • Delivering on financial and forecast expectations 

  • Conducting business planning to drive growth with direct, indirect (channel), Key Accounts and focused market segments

  • Developing sales strategies and adjust to meet changing market and competitive conditions for complex product lines and working cross functionally with other business disciplines

Company Vehicle
This position requires driving a company vehicle, which will require pre-employment and ongoing review of motor vehicle history for candidates who are offered and hired for this position.

Your Skills and Expertise  

To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:


  • Bachelor’s degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution

  • Two (2) years of sales experience in a private, public, government or military environment 

  • Two (2) years of direct B2B sales experience in a technical and/or food industry 

  • Current, Valid Driver’s license is required, as you will be issued a company vehicle for this position 

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:


  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Microbiology, Science or Sales is preferred

  • Food Safety industry experience 

  • Pathogen testing products background

  • Laboratory sales experience is preferred

  • Successful history of time and territory management

  • Successful sales performance and territory track record or meeting / exceeding forecast

  • Attention to detail, critical thinking,  

  • Experience using Sales Force.com or other Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software

  • Experience with "Solution Selling" methodologies

  • Strong computer skills and experience with Microsoft Office

Territory: Chicagoland, Northern IL, Southern WI

Travel: May include up to 50% Domestic Travel
