Job Description:

General Summary:

Coordinates and participates in all functions of the quality and safety system within Michigan and Ohio. This individual also collects, organizes, monitors and distributes any information related to the functions of the Quality and Safety office. Communicates information on the latest standards, procedures and requirements related to the company’s products or services.

Key Quality Responsibilities:

1.Coordinates the structure and approval of written Quality Policy, procedures, instructions, and process flowcharts; merges documents and communicates updates for the Michigan and Ohio facilities.

2.Maintains forms master list and associated computer files.

3.Attends all Quality Steering Committee (QSC) meetings and documents meeting minutes.

4.Prepares and distributes audit reports; maintains audit schedule, status reports and matrices.

5.Processes Non-Conformance Forms, maintains Non-Conformance database and generates reports.

6.Processes Quality Operating System (QOS) measurements; produces trend and Paynter charts, maintains master copy with appropriate backup, and prepares monthly Executive Summaries for Quality Steering Committee (QSC) members.

7.Reviews errors and implements centralized corrective actions.

8.Coordinates and participates in audits for the Ohio and Michigan facilities.

9.Monitors Corporate-wide Quality Systems including all documentation.

10.Receives and responds to customer surveys.

Key Safety Responsibilities:

1.Acts as Corporate Safety Team Representative and Michigan/Ohio Customer Fulfillment Center (CFC) Safety Team Leader.

2.Coordinates and ensures completion of all safety inspections.

3.Reviews reported safety issues for each branch and provides resolution.

4.Plans annual fire and storm shelter drills.

5.Coordinates annual Red Cross first responder training.

6.Verifies the accuracy of the Emergency Action Plan.

7.Maintains the hazardous material map for the fire department.

8.Actively participates in the Employer’s Direct Insurance Company (EDIC) meetings and inspections.

9.Participates in annual risk assessments.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

1.Bachelor’s degree in business, logistics, supply chain management or related field required.

2.3+ years of on-the-job warehouse and quality experience with automotive industry experience a plus; additional experience considered in lieu of meeting the educational requirement.

3.Must demonstrate attention to detail, initiative, follow through and strong organizational and analytical skills.

4.Ability to work independently.

5.Proven skills in communication, both written and oral.

6.Advanced computer skills, preferably Microsoft Office with Access Database experience.
