National Pharmacy Technician Certification thru either PTCB or ExCPT with CPhT designation and Registration with Kentucky Board of Pharmacy.

Physical Requirements

May include standing and/or walking for greater than 5 hours at a time. Walking could be of significant distance throughout the medical center campus for medication delivery to clinic patients. May require the ability to reach items above the shoulder level and to carry items up to 25 pounds.

Shift

Current operating hours are Monday thru Friday 730am-5pm. Hours and days of week subject to change based on the needs and growth of the department. May require call center duties which could expand to later hours and may require occasional holiday and weekend rotation based on growth of department. Shifts assigned based on scheduling needs not to exceed 40 hours/week. Number of hours scheduled per week may vary.

Job Summary

This position will provide a variety of specialty pharmacy services including obtaining prior authorizations, enrolling patients' in financial support programs, mail order tracking and drug inventory management, and coordinating first time dispenses and refills for specialty medications prescribed within UK HealthCare. You will work closely with nurses, physicians, and UK Specialty Pharmacy staff to improve access to medications for a variety of sub specialty disease states.

Skills / Knowledge / Abilities

This position requires dependability, excellent customer service and the ability to prioritize. The successful candidate must be reliable and demonstrate excellent attention to detail. Must be self-motivated and be able to stay on task. Must be reliable and punctual. This position requires teamwork, excellent communication skills and strong interpersonal skills to be applied with both patients and other medical professionals.
Creates and maintains cultures where all staff delivers friendly, patient centered care.

Preferred Education/Experience

Retail and/or Hospital pharmacy technician experience preferred but not required. Hired candidate must maintain licensure as CPhT from PTCB /ExCPT during employment in this position. Salary range based on experience and certification
