The Spirit of the Position: 

Do you love helping people?  Are you energetic and fast on your feet?  Well then, we are looking for you. We are hiring a Customer Service Representative to greet and create a welcoming atmosphere for our employees, visitors, guests, customers and clients in our Oakland locations.  

A LAZ Customer Service Representative plays a significant role in the success of the company. They are the first person a visitor, customer or guest sees upon arrival, and the last person they see when they depart.  A warm welcome, smiling face, and professional demeanor are of the utmost importance.

What Will I Do?

This position has been developed to assist our clients with directing traffic, providing direction and to keep the traffic line moving smoothly to assist visitors and patients in receiving services provided by a healthcare group in a timely manner.  The position is a greeter and performs the job in a caring and friendly manner with all visitors.  In addition, works closely with security staff to monitor the surroundings and reporting unusual incidents immediately to the appropriate personnel.

The Details:


  • Full time and part time; willingness to be flexible with work schedule, 24 hours and 7 days a week.

  • Must wear face mask throughout the shift

  • Strong customer service experience

  • $ 14.81 per hour + Union Health Benefit

  • Shift starts immediately

Responsibilities:


  • Welcoming each guest with a warm smile and offering to help him/her/them to find the appropriate destination within the area quickly.

  • Directing traffic

  • Monitor the continual movement of lines

  • Be alert and aware of surroundings to ensure compliance of safety and security of the area

  • Limit access to certain areas for approved personnel/vehicles only

  • Good under pressure. You don’t fold and get overwhelmed easily.

  • Good at communicating and have the ability to speak, read, and comprehend English easily.

  • A team player. You’re open to different opinions and can help motivate your team.

Education:

  • High school diploma or GED preferred but not required.

Skills:


  • Ability to handle challenging and at times, emotionally charged situations.

  • Must be able to work with minimal supervision.

  • Must be able to make decisions independently and stay firm on decisions made (not easily persuaded).

  • Demonstrates a sense of urgency and timeliness.

  • Excellent team building and interpersonal skills.

Physical Demands:


  • Willingness to work in the elements -- heat, wind, rain, etc.

  • Ability to stand, walk and run for extended periods of time.
