Sr. Strategist, Marketing Content

NI is looking for a passionate storyteller and content expert to be a critical part of their Marketing Content team. You'd be responsible for content strategy, ideation, and production aligned to NI's Marketing plans, while working with multiple groups across Marketing, Sales, and our Business Units, including interaction with relevant agencies and other third-parties.

This is a senior role and does require 8+ years in Marketing, Communications, or Journalism with specific experience in content strategy, writing, editing, and/or creative. If this sounds like you, then I'd like to hear your story.

Job Description

  • Design and execute a content strategy that supports and extends marketing initiatives, both short- and long-term
  • Own and oversee content strategy, ideation, and production (authoring, editing, and publishing) aligned to NI's Marketing plans including management a content production and editorial calendar
  • Develop an effective and thoughtful bridging strategy linking our editorial/thought leadership messages and strategies with the consumer's journey aligned to business outcomes
  • Ensure a consistent global brand and experience while implementing appropriate localization/translation strategies working with relevant functions
  • Work in close partnership with the brand team, creative team, corporate communications/PR, social, web, and paid media teams to deliver rich content experiences against the brand and buyer's journey strategy
  • Assist the Content Team in developing standards, systems, and best practices for content creation, distribution, maintenance, content retrieval and content repurposing
  • Gather performance data to assess content to then make adjustment recommendations based on results
  • Leverage market and customer data to develop and adjust content themes/topics and execute a plan to develop the assets that support these themes/topics
  • Conduct content inventories to determine gaps, content retirement, etc
  • Experience in B2B Marketing a plus
  • Skills and Experience Required

  • Proven writing skills
  • Experience in how to tell a story using words, images, and/or audio, and an understanding of how to create content that draws in and engages in audience
  • Skill at both long-form content creation and real-time (immediate) content creation, as well as distribution strategies and tactics
  • The ability to think like an educator, intuitively understanding what the audience needs to know and how they want to consume it
  • Clear articulation of the business goal(s) behind the creation of a piece (or series) of content
  • Leadership skills required to define and manage a set of goals involving diverse contributors and content types
  • Project management skills to manage content production and publishing schedules and deadlines
  • Experience converting comprehensive strategic information into compelling messages for different target demographics
  • Proven experience producing quality work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
  • Proven experience managing clients through a workflow
  • Excellent negotiator and mediator
  • A willingness to embrace change and to adapt strategies on the fly
  • Experience as a print or broadcast journalist and has a "nose" for the story a plus
  • Experience in audience development and subscription strategies experience a major plus
  • Education Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Journalism, or related communications field
  • Familiar to proficient in all major business software applications (Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Office, Adobe Omniture, Google Analytics, etc.)
  • Multilingual abilities (specifically Chinese) a plus
