Job Description:

POSITION OVERVIEW

dormakaba is seeking a Production Supervisor (Contract) for our Indianapolis, IN facility. This position will be responsible for planning, directing, coaching, and supervising employees and production activities to achieve established production schedules and desired quality levels.

 PRIMARY DUTIES

• Organizes and assigns work to utilize available skills, knowledge, experience, labor hours, machines, and tooling to optimize cost, quality, and workmanship


• Provides regular training, instruction, and guidance


• Maintains set-up procedures to prevent excessive downtime and interrupted schedules


• Assures that the desired product quality levels are achieved through proper operator training with operations and inspections techniques, use of tools, and overall job responsibilities


• Develops and implements methods and procedures to control and improve product quality


• Prepares, maintains, and analyzes reports related to quality, efficiency, machine utilization, scrap, budget status, etc.


• Takes corrective action when necessary to improve the overall performance of his/her productions areas


• Maintains appropriate levels of labor in accordance with skill requirements, work levels and schedules, labor hours and training programs 


• Works with manufacturing engineers to resolve issues related to product quality design and defects


• Supervises toolmakers, finishers, coaters, platers, and other technical disciplines as well as other nonexempt positions as required

REQUIREMENTS

• High school diploma or equivalent


• Proficiency in Lean Manufacturing, Process and Product knowledge


• 3-5 years of work experience with 2 of those with Supervisory/Leadership responsibility


• Skills or experience with personal computers, proficent in Micrsoft products


• Working knowledge of SAP or ERP systems


• Grasp of quality concepts and practices


• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written


• Effective time management skills


• Ability to be self-motivated
