We are looking for a talented SAP Functional Excellence Manager to join our team specializing in Information Technology for our Cummins Distribution Business Unit (DBU) in Indianapolis, IN. This position is currently working remote due to COVID but will be revisited.

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:


  • Manages improvement for the overall effectiveness of one or more functions. Consults and supports processes, capabilities, systems and data for the function aligned to end-to-end value stream performance goals. Partners to drive improvement activities within the function to deliver performance objectives of impacted value streams and improve outcomes for customers. Stays connected within relevant industries to support advancement within the function and position the company for sustainability and growth.

  • Identifies and manages the functional excellence strategy of the Centre of Excellence and roadmap to achieve functional maturity goals, in collaboration with business leaders, other functional leaders and end-to-end process owners.

  • Supports appropriate functional talent activities including learning and development, composition of global, strategy for DBS SAP rollout and developing functional competencies with SAP S/4 HANA.

  • Utilizes business knowledge and experience to identify growth opportunities for the function to improve outcomes for the customer.

  • Creates a culture of accountability taking a hands-on leadership approach to execution, through collaboration with  end to end process owners and functional excellence peers to prioritize continuous improvement efforts for the function.

  • Participates in knowledge sharing to develop enterprise subject-matter expertise in one or more process functions.

    College, university, or equivalent degree required

    This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.

    Experience


    • Over 7 to 10 years of SAP domain experience implementing SAP solutions, working across business and IT, in greenfield and brownfield implementations  as a Subject Matter Expert in multiple SAP modules is required, .

    • Prefer strong experience leading strategic and change efforts within a function or business unit; and the ability to make and drive connections across relevant work streams. Solid communication and stakeholder management skills, as well as ability to work autonomously , with little supervision, amidst ambiguity, is important for success in this role.

    • Must have worked with SAP S/4 HANA projects and phased  rollouts globally at multi-national industries and led functional project teams in an Agile manner

    • In-depth cross functional subject matter expertise, hands-on configuration experience, solution design, troubleshooting, Incident management and Production support experience across  multiple SAP modules, like MM, PP, FI, CO,IM, EWM, SD, PS, CS, Warranty including Master data, with ECC 6.0 or SAP S/4HANA 1709 or higher is required.

    • Knowledge of SAP industry best business practices are essential with relevant experience in Automotive or Manufacturing domains, highly preferred.


    • Delivery experience, in key SAP Lead roles as Solution Architect, SME or COE Functional Lead that involves multi-module implementation of SAP ERP solutions with ECC6.0 or S/4 HANA will be key differentiators.

    • Working knowledge of SAP architecture, program and practices, along with strong, aptitude to craft innovative, strategic solutions to complex and cross functional problems across SAP modules, presentation and analytical  skills, are all required to effectively coach business users, solution architects and analysts.
