Job Description:

SUMMARY:

The Shipping Coach is responsible for the safe, effective and on-time loading and delivery of ordered Monrovia quality plants to customers in markets served by the nursery. 

Duties and Responsibilities

A.     Business

1. Prepare and achieve the shipping department’s operating plan, analyzing, evaluating, and adjusting it to achieve established objectives.          


2. Achieve Action Plans as assigned.        


3. Focus on our customer’s needs by creating and continually improving the shipping operation, delivering plants when our customers want them.       


4. Lead by example the implementation of the MNQ philosophy.     


5. Evaluate general and specific business conditions and their possible impact on the company and the Shipping Department.


6. Explore and develop innovations and profitable new business opportunities.        


7. Ensure that all departmental activities are carried out in compliance with local, state and federal regulations and laws.


8. Provide structure and coordination to the Shipping Teams efforts in creating and achieving both the Operating Plan and Action Plans.      


9. Provide training to Shipping’s Craftsmen in use of quality tools, including Statistical Process Control and measures.

Develop strong working relationships with vendor, suppliers and stakeholders.
