Job Description:

This role provides front to back control framework governance, including internal and external Audit and Compliance leadership, migration and offshoring guidance and support, Control & Operational Risk Evaluation (CORE) management; including a full action plan monitoring program, risk event management including control metrics for Daily Health Check error reporting, Corporate Risk Event Reporting and daily line of business support for issue and error management.

The successful candidate will operate as an Operations Control Manager within a global team, providing control design and execution guidance and support. They will also work with Compliance, Risk, Change Management, Legal, Technology and Audit to execute against some or all of the below personal and team responsibilities and initiatives.

• Acting as a first line of defence with Operations on the control agenda and as trusted operations risk and control advisor

• Representing operations interests in response to control/regulatory initiatives, including assisting with compliance with applicable laws/rules and regulations

• Partnering with internal operational contacts, Audit, Compliance and Regulatory teams to assess incidents, conduct operational reviews and deep dives on potential control gaps

• Identifying and assessing risks, and design and execution of approach to mitigate those risks

• Undertaking issue identification, remediation and action plan management

• Defining, developing and publishing standardized control metrics and coordinating with internal colleagues to review, report and present analysis on errors, corrective measures and trends

• Driving risk mitigation and control remediation programs across the business; including assisted delivery of controls evaluation, through Failure Mode Effects Analysis (FMEA) and other control and risk metric driven analysis and deep dives

• Managing control and risk governance implementation and reporting through data driven solutions (such as Tableau & Qlik)

Executing and implementing operations control priorities and strategy through innovative technologies (such as Alteryx & Xceptor)

Key Skills Required:

• Good verbal and written communication skills. Effective communication to VP/ED/MD level including concise summary of situations, impacts and remediation

• Good influencing and negotiation skills and ability to build and influence partnerships across global Markets Operations, Technology and all other stakeholders

• Strong analytical, problem solving and process re-engineering skills as well as great attention to detail

• Effective time management and prioritization skills; ability to work in a busy environment and effectively to deadlines in order to react and drive developing events

• Proactive with the ability to deliver value-added support to business partners in a dependable, timely and accurate manner

• Previous relevant risk and control experience helpful but not essential
