The Wellness Specialist will promote a culture of well-being within Goodwill Industries of Kentucky that demonstrates the commitment the agency has to the safety, health, and wellness of our employees. Under the direction of the Director Safety and Wellness, this individual will coordinate and administer activities and initiatives that support a statewide wellness program for the agency. Essential Duties and Tasks:
Responsible for developing, planning, marketing, and executing organization-wide wellness program and initiatives.
Creates new wellness programs and initiatives and evaluates and improves on existing ones.
Executes program activities designed to benefit the health and wellbeing of employees. Plans, tracks, reports, and monitors employee participation, satisfaction/feedback, year over year conditions, risks, and improvements of the wellness program.
Provides recommendations for continuous improvement and innovation of the wellness program to reflect the changing needs of employees.
Travel up to 25% to site locations to develop and maintain relationships with wellness champions and leaders for general oversight, support and information, and creation of sustainable events and programs catered to the employee base.
In collaboration with human resources, maintains an understanding of the health insurance benefit offerings and integrates the wellness program appropriately.
Incorporate benefit resources and information when appropriate in wellness initiatives, activities, presentations, communications, etc.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in health promotion, health education, or related field is required.
Minimum of two (2) years working in a wellness related field such as health promotion, health education, nutrition, health management, or Human Resources.
Strong analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving abilities
Must have the proven ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects at one time under tight deadlines.
Must have knowledge of a broad range of wellness topics and a passion for health and wellness.
