Job Summary:
The main responsibility of the MEMS Designer is to design and model pressure sensors, accelerometers and gyroscopes
Based on the product requirements, the designer will identify the MEMS architecture and important parameters of the device to meet the expected performance
This position also requires doing corner analysis of the main design parameters and follow the best design practices like the DFMEA methodology
Responsible of generating the Design Documentation and of leading the Design Review
As the device owner, you will be specifying and leading the verification, validation and characterization activities and correlating the model with the test data when the product is available
The MEMS Designer will work with other team members to create new products
Specific job tasks include:
Innovate by designing and bringing to market new MEMS sensors for mass production. This includes verifying the effects of the fabrication and assembly process corners and package interactions
During the design phase, the MEMS Designer works closely with the ASIC, Process and Package Teams to optimize the product performance
The designer is a member of multidisciplinary teams including R&D and new products team and evaluates the qualification results of the MEMS sensor to loop back into the MEMS model
Must collaborate in customer team meetings and quality incidents
Job Qualifications:
Education: PhD ME (MEMS design), or MSME with at least 4 years of work experience in MEMS design
Expert in Finite Element Analysis (FEA) with Ansys, Comsol or similar FEA tool
Experience with Matlab and Simulink
Design experience of pressure sensors, accelerometers or gyroscopes essential
Knowledge of MEMS testing in a lab environment using probers and bench characterization equipment a strong plus
Experience with MEMS process, package and manufacturing technology desired
Effective communication, problem solving, prioritization and planning skills
The ability to work in a team setting
The MEMS Design Engineer must have strong creativity and innovation skills, provide technical guidance and solutions and communicate with management or key customers.
