Production Data Management Specialist at New England Biolabs, Inc. in Ipswich, Massachusetts

Job Description:

As a member of the Production department at New England Biolabs (NEB), the Production Data Management Specialist will work closely with members of Purchasing, Production, QA, and IT to maintain, change, and create Production master data in SAP.  In addition, this specialist will support and train Production staff to utilize SAP in the manufacturing process.

Primary Responsibilities:


  • Ensure data accuracy of Production BOMs and master data in SAP.


  • Work with product developers and production scientists to create BOMs and master data for new products in SAP.


  • Collaborate with Purchasing department to manage and create new raw material master data in the system.


  • Work with Quality Assurance to ensure that changes to Production master data are managed through the appropriate change management process.


  • Collaborate with the Applications and Development and Production teams to develop business process improvements for gathering new product master data for product launch.


  • Assist in data migration cleansing and validation activities.


  • Understand manufacturing processes and the implementation within the global ERP.


  • Support and train Production members in SAP applications for manufacturing.


  • Troubleshoot problems affecting processing of manufacturing functions in SAP.


Required Qualifications and Experience:


  • B.S. in a STEM related degree with 2+ years’ work experience, preferably in a biotech manufacturing environment.


  • Experience in SAP (MM and PP modules) or a comparable ERP system.


  • Experience working in SAP Fiori, preferred.


  • Extremely organized with strong attention to detail and consistency.


  • Propensity for working in database software programs and a talent for becoming proficient in new programs quickly.


  • Excellent communication skills and ability to provide strong internal “customer service” with rapid response rates to problems.


  • Expert in MS Excel. 


  • Passion for using software to increase efficiency and accuracy in protocol and data management.
