Summary: Responsibilities include the development and implementation of an aggressive cost- improvement program for assigned commodities, performance of supplier audits to monitor the suitability of current suppliers. Negotiation of business unit agreements and working closely with both Design and Manufacturing Engineering to develop demand-based supply systems.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Negotiation of assigned agreements and preparation of required contracts.

Development and implementation of an aggressive cost-reduction program for assigned commodities.

Ensures timely and thorough communication of required information to other business unit components.

Develops a material control plan to minimize obsolescence and reduce inventories.

Responsible for the purchasing of global commodities as assigned.

Monitors price trends of raw materials and commodities and recommends sources, timing, and quantity of purchases.

Maintains an accurate data base for current and potential suppliers, materials, prices, delivery dates, and inventories.

Obtains and analyzes quotations, issues purchase orders for direct material and expedites deliveries and shipments.

Must be able to successfully manage and execute several complex tasks simultaneously.

Ensures that Company standard procedures are followed in connection with purchases of materials and services.

Education/Experience:
Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university; three to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
