Job Developer at COMMUNITY SOLUTIONS INC in Bridgeport, Connecticut

Job Description:

We are looking for a dedicated and passionate individual to join our Job Development team in Bridgeport CT. You will be working Tuesdays 12pm-8pm and Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday 8am-4pm. You will be a part of a team helping to guide clients with counseling, support and other employment related services. You will work to establish relationships with employers and businesses in the area while promoting the services provided by CTWorks. You will provide follow up services to program participants with a focused effort toward employment and serve as a role model to clients modeling pro-social behaviors. This position pays $16.83/hr.

Community Solutions Inc. (CSI) is a nonprofit organization that promotes the responsible citizenship, accountability, and well-being of individuals and families involved, or at risk of involvement, in the child welfare, juvenile justice, or criminal justice system. Since CSI’s founding in 1962, it has been a pioneer in the community-based service. We have been delivering supervision, treatment, and comprehensive individualized services to help clients interact more effectively in their communities and become productive citizens. Using this plan we built the first ever halfway house in New England which has now been replicated and grown to almost 50 programs in 10 states. For over 50 years, CSI has been building upon its successful foundations and has been expanding its services to serve thousands of adults, youth, and families each year.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS includes but are not limited too:

• Identify employment opportunities and assist the program participants with the job search process, including leading job clubs and presentation of workshops.


• Create and build new relationships with businesses promoting the services available through CTWorks.


• Provide follow-up services to program participants that have received intensive or training services, maintaining regular contact with participants.


• Represent Community Solutions, Inc. at events such as: chamber activities, job fairs and business expositions. Develop and coordinate such events.


• Coordinate job fairs, recruitments, and on/off site visits with employers to establish relationships, identify and develop job opportunities for program participants.


• Participate in meetings with the supervisors and job developers in the Business Services Unit assigned to CTWorks.


• Maintain client files with confidentiality and comply with Agency policy on confidential information.


• Maintain a working knowledge of and abide by the Agency’s programs, policies, and procedures.


• Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

• Bachelor’s Degree or substantial experience working with clients for job readiness, developing community resources, initiating and maintaining contacts with the employment community or other job development related activities.


• Excellent organizational writing, public speaking, interpersonal and computer skills required.


• Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines simultaneously.


• Knowledge of job development and employment resources.


• Possession of a valid driver’s license and car.
