Responsible for directing practice clinical support staff
Analyze and implement process improvement practices to develop efficiencies in the Practice
Support and empower the employees to embrace the mission and value statements of the organization
Perform management activities including interviewing, hiring, evaluating, termination and departmental staffing and scheduling.
Resolves personnel concerns at the department level, utilizing the grievance process
Promote patient safety in all healthcare delivery settings to include medication safety, patient-physician communication, health literacy, and public health education
Assess and increase patient’s satisfaction through patient education, front office experience, and communication
Ensure optimal patient flow and outstanding customer service
Evaluate process improvement opportunity based on data regarding all aspects of the practice to include cost and value of the practice, patient and treatment demographics, and efficiency of the claims cycle.
Implement programs as necessary for improvement
Analyze current service demands and future needs
Keep current on compliance and risk management to include identifying and understanding all practice risks, implementing strategies to minimize those risks and mitigating any adverse events for the following areas a. HIPPA: maintain compliance with privacy and security rules to include OSHA.
Monitor delivery of patient services to include reviewing physician activity data and forecast and prepare for all changes needed or impacted by patient load, billing/collecting procedures, and government regulations and policies.
Prepare reports regarding outpatient clinics, i.e. utilization, performance improvement, service data, outcome data and productivity, including long term capital budget and short term operational budget
Effectively and consistently communicates administrative directives to personnel and encourages interactive departmental meetings and discussions.
Recruit, supervise, and direct all practice non-provider staff to ensure clinic operates in an efficient manner and the patients receive highest quality customer service.
Conduct regular team meetings with each practice location to facilitate team building and process improvement
Work collaboratively with FHW Clinical Quality team to design, implement and support an ongoing quality improvement program for practices.
Function as the practice liaison with patients, businesses, staff, physicians, and administration
Work with the practice management and electronic medical record systems insuring efficiency, effective training adequate record keeping and to ensure all state and federal regulations governing the release of information are followed.
Work closely with Administrator Physician and Outpatient Services for forecasting and recruitment of staff as necessary
Monitor staffing ratios and make staffing changes accordingly
Financial review and analysis for practices
Work collaboratively with Administrator Physician and Outpatient Services and other Senior Leadership on Physician Services strategic planning initiatives
Quarterly financial review and financial forecasting for practices
Analyze practice productivity and work collaboratively with Associate VP of Physician Services to design workflow improvements to maximize practice productivity
Collaborate with Senior Leadership on organizational initiatives
Work collaboratively with quality department to ensure achievement of deliverables in value based payment models.
Participate in planning, implementation and execution of strategic goals for primary care practices under the direction of the Associate VP of Physician Services.
Participate in professional development opportunities as approved by the Associate VP of Physician Services.
