The Summer Intern in Health Data Mining will assist with a variety of issues related to client support and health data warehouse activities. Key responsibilities will include but are not limited to:


  • Supporting ongoing validation of monthly data refreshes for warehouse clients;

  • Assisting with periodic warehouse reporting (i.e., dashboard creation and preparation of the monthly standard report package);

  • Assisting with ad-hoc client requests that require data querying and manipulation; and

  • Assisting with research and development regarding health cost and utilization norms, trends and clinical studies.


  • Strong analytical and mathematical capabilities with creative problem solving ability

  • Previous SQL, SAS or programming experience is preferred

  • High proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite products (Excel, Word, & PowerPoint)

  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision in a time-sensitive environment

  • Minimum two plus years of undergraduate education or undergraduate degree

  • Knowledge of medical claims systems/coding, actuarial concepts or health benefits is a plus

  • Previous work experience in a professional service environment is desirable but not mandatory.
