Our Consulting practice seeks an experienced Senior Consultant to join our Risk Consulting Internal Audit team in our New York office. As a Senior Consultant in this practice, you work as part of a consulting team and are expected to play a significant role in client engagement, along with maintaining additional internal (non-client) responsibilities.
The preferred location for this position is our New York office. However, this position can take place in any of our U.S. office locations.
Our firm has offered our employees the option of working remotely at this time.
Professional Responsibilities:
Client Service and Delivery
General understanding of the Banking industry and its business needs
Solid understanding of Banking processes and operations (e.g. wire transfers, deposits, loan operations, branch operations, regulatory compliance, credit, etc.)
Deliver exceptional service as part of an engagement team with general supervision
Participates in both client and internal presentations, work product, report development and deliverable creation
Communicate ideas to clients in a clear and understandable manner
Demonstrate sound judgment and effective decision making in order to manage and mitigate risk
Ability to identify risks, develop internal controls to mitigate such risks, and opportunities for improvement to client operations
Project Management
Completes assigned tasks within scope through effective time management
Understands engagement and project planning
Contributes to work planning and status reporting on assigned engagements
Recognize, research and participate in resolution of identified engagement issues
Perform a careful self-review of work to ensure individual quality control
Business Development, and Firm Growth
Assists and participates in proposal and business development initiatives as needed
Participates in recruiting and staff orientation programs for other consulting professionals
Participates in internal efforts to build methodologies and create business development materials
Professional Growth
Develops and maintains expertise in technical & industry areas
Develops an understanding of all GRC offerings and tools required by the professional services delivered
Maintains ongoing CPE requirements and development
Work towards obtaining an approved certification related to technical areas
Qualifications:
Education and Certifications
Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting, Finance or a Business-related field of study
Advanced degrees are a preferred
Professional credentials such as CPA or CIA is valued
Prior Business Experience
4 + years of consulting experience in a CPA firm or a national consulting firm
Work exposure to financial services or the banking industry is a plus
Prior external audit or internal audit work experience is a plus
