Major purpose:The Assembler/Operator’s primary function is to perform one or a combination of a variety of tasks utilizing manual dexterity. Working with small, fragile parts, the Assembler/Operator assembles modules that meet all specifications in order to build intensifier tube components. The Assembler/Operator must be able to follow and interpret work instructions and make operation entries on a computer terminal.

Major functions:The Assembler/Operator will adhere to procedures and work instructions to perform a variety of processes on substrates or components to achieve quality and yield goals set by their department.

• Produce a quality product that meets the customer specifications and maintain sufficient inventory to satisfy internal and external customers

• Process components through various assigned assembly operations

• Assembly tasks may include soldering, inspections, assembly operations using a microscope, and work in a clean room or dark room environment

• Operate test or processing equipment; including saws, polishers, vacuum equipment, etc. in order to alter the component or piece part

• Excellent manual dexterity; handling and manipulating fragile electronic components

• Follow work instructions and make processing entries on computer terminals

• Perform work with chemicals such as isopropyl alcohol, acetone, various potting compounds

• Consistent output, attention to detail and quality of work

• Use Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office)

• Perform other duties as required

Technical/Functional skills:

Education/Experience/Licenses etc.:• High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 4 years of prior relevant experience or 2 years post-Secondary/Associates Degree with 0 to 2 years of prior related experience

• Ability to clearly read, write, and understand English (required)









Required Knowledge and Experience:





• 3+ years’ experience with glass inspection or semiconductor or printed circuit board with a microscope (Stereo and compound),

• 3+ years’ experience with optical / surface finish callouts / tolerances (flatness, parallelism, scratch/dig, etc.)

• 3+ years’ experience with light machining – Lathe, tool grinders, plus any optical surfacing equipment

• Ability to create clear written documentation (i.e. work instructions, data sheets, etc…)

• Ability to communicate effectively to all levels engineering, management, and production.

• Related manufacturing work experience (including soldering, high volume production, assembly)

• Ability to use chemicals and solvents (isopropyl alcohol, acetone, various potting compounds)

• Must have strong problem solving and analytical skills

• Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office)

• Must be able to work alone or with others

• Knowledge of all safety (mechanical, chemical, electrical) procedures applicable to job

• Must be able to multi-task
