Position Summary:

The Product Marketing Manager position is responsible for developing and executing strategies for achieving profitable growth for assigned products and services. Studies market trends and competitor activities, and works with customers, Sales and Engineering to identify business opportunities and key growth drivers for assigned products, services and industries. Provides hiring, promotion, and development plans, as well as performance evaluation and feedback for direct reports.

Major Responsibilities:


  • Lead efforts to achieving profitable growth for assigned products and services.
  • Drive continuous improvement and innovation through the development of product and technology roadmaps for assigned industries.
  • Establish and manage pricing guidelines to maximize sales and profitability. Analyze historical quote data to improve consistency and efficiency of the quote process.
  • Develop detailed order and demand forecasts for assigned products and services.
  • Work with Sales to manage key customer relationships. Review and negotiate customer contracts and agreements.
  • Monitor market/technology trends and benchmark competitor activities to identify opportunities and competitive threats. Initiate ideas for new product development, cost out, product improvement and marketing campaigns to increase sales, win rate and profitability.
  • Lead Commercial 80/20 efforts for assigned products and services related to price, customers and product offerings.
  • Develop and execute specific and targeted customer development programs to increase participation and profitability with new and existing accounts.
  • Manage product life cycle for assigned products and services from new product development through maturation, continuously seeking opportunities for improvement.
  • Support Sales with product training and other customer development activities.
  • Develop and maintain collaterals to support growth campaigns and strategies.
  • Coordinate trade shows and related activities.
  • Analyze customer care data (NPS) and take actions to improve our customer satisfaction results and scores.

Required Education / Experience / Skills:

  • 5 years of experience in a customer-facing role, such as Marketing, Sales or Engineering.
  • BS Mechanical Engineering degree with Marketing and/or Sales experience preferred. Alternately, Business or Marketing degree or other relevant experience in a manufacturing-oriented business. MBA a plus.
  • Ability to coordinate activities and influence others in a cross-functional environment.
  • Ability to review and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
