Driver - Delivery at Century A/C Supply in Houston, Texas

Job Description:

As a Driver, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient operation of the delivery function which includes safely operating a motor vehicle, delivering the merchandise and customer service. You will be expected to pull and prepare orders to be delivered to customers, as well as ensuring that deliveries are timely and correct via established routes. You will be expected to maintain an orderly vehicle. You will complete appropriate paperwork to with regard to delivered merchandise per company procedure and/or customer/vendor instruction. You will be expected to follow company policy regarding vehicle maintenance, services and driver policies. You will assist the inside sales representatives and/or warehouse personnel as needed.

Essential Duties

• Load and unload merchandise using necessary machinery and tools;


• Must be able to operate forklifts;


• Perform daily DOT inspections;


• Ensure orderly vehicle;


• Complete appropriate paperwork to with regard to delivered merchandise per company procedure;


• Follow company policy regarding vehicle maintenance, services and driver policies;


• Assist the inside sales representatives and/or warehouse personnel as needed.

Qualifications

• 6 months of driving experience preferred


• Satisfactory driving record (within the last 3 years) is necessary

Skills

• Ability to interpret instruction


• Ability to operate a motor vehicle


• Ability to operate warehouse machinery


• Must be able to lift 50 lbs. on a regular basis


• Ability to sit for several hours at a time
