Job Description:
The Pharmacist's role is to dispense, compound, label, store, and ensure the proper use of pharmaceutical preparations, contribute to the efficient operation of the department, direct the Pharmacy Technicians and advance the goals of Norton Healthcare. The Pharmacist uses the principles of pharmaceutical care to ensure optimal therapeutic outcomes for individual patients. The Pharmacist may provide pharmacy-related education to pharmacists, technicians, other health care practitioners, and the public. It is expected that the Pharmacist shall exercise leadership in all matters related to the medication use process for Patients of all ages. This position requires a high level of interaction with physicians, nurses, patients, other health care providers, as well as pharmacy management in problem solving and project interaction. The employee is responsible for: supporting and facilitating the QI process through on-going development and monitoring of performance improvement indicators; growth and facilitation of Pharmacy work teams to meet quality, clinical standards of care; assisting the Director to provide effective and efficient use of all resources and for ensuring budget and value proposition targets are met. Work involves non-standardized tasks requiring professional judgment. Errors could lead to cost and quality problems for the Pharmacy Department. Required:
