Parham Doctors’ Hospital, a campus of Henrico Doctors’ Hospital, is located in the west end of Richmond. Parham Doctors’ Hospital is a 200-bed facility offering medical and surgical programs including orthopedics, behavioral health, bariatrics, imaging, rehabilitation services, 24-hour emergency care, sleep disorder, podiatry, primary care, and occupational health. About the Unit :
- 18 Bed ER
- Mixed patient population like Behavioral Health, Geriatric, Ortho, Pediatric etc.
- Joint Commission Certified Primary Stroke Center - we have been certified for providing critical treatments for improved outcomes in long-term stroke care
- Certified Chest Pain Center accredited by the Society of Cardiovascular Patient Care, streamlining the treatment process to improve outcomes

Behavioral health services to quickly triage patients with behavioral health needs
SPECIFIC ELEMENTS AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Demonstrates clinical competence to practice within the Emergency Department’s Scope of Care.
- Manages expenses to stay within budgetary guidelines.
- Communicates effectively with staff, peers, Physicians, Director and external and internal customers.
- Utilizes quality improvement as basis to improve Unit/Departmental process.
- Pursues own professional growth and development.
- Maintains unit readiness for regulatory surveys.
- Assumes accountability for decisions and actions.
- Provides opportunities for employee development.
- Initiates and documents patient teaching including family and/or significant others.
- Uses appropriate patient Education documentation methods
Qualifications
EXPERIENCE
Required - One year experience as RN in an Emergency Department with demonstrated proficiency in leadership and management skills.
Preferred - Two years of experience as an RN in a charge nurse role in an Emergency Department setting.
EDUCATION
Required - Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with a current license to practice as a RN in the State of Virginia or compact license.
Preferred - Educational programs in nursing management. Completion of or current enrollment in a program of study obtaining BSN. Certified Emergency Nurse.
CERTIFICATIONS
Required - BLS (American Heart)
ACLS, PALS, and CPI required within six (6) months of hire
TNCC and ENPC as available
