Plant Manager - Casthouse/Foundry at Samuel, Son & Co. (USA) Inc. in Riverside, California

Job Description:

Primary Roles & Responsibilities:

• The position is required to manage and direct the entire casting process from receiving metal, scrap and elements, melting metal, thru casting to maximize efficiencies and production while meeting environmental standards,  quality and alloy requirements.


• Major Activities/Key Challenges:
  
  
  
  • Be Health, Safety and Environmental leader for the Cathouse by following established protocols and teamwork and collaboration with the EHS Manager.
  
  
  • Deliver and drive improvement on key performance metrics on Safety, Customer, Quality, Cost,  Productivity and Capex implementation.
  
  
  • Maintain and foster positive employee relations and communications.
  
  
  • Develop a strategy for the Casthouses and outline and execute a business program to achieve results on an annual basis.
  
  
  • Manage, direct, coach, lead, train, and motivate teams to achieve goals and objectives in a timely and safe manner, while continuously striving to improve effectiveness and efficiency.
  
  
  • Manage the casthouse budget and spend and  provide reporting, including forecasts, explanations of changes, business reviews, and other executive results reporting as required.
  
  
  • Collaborate with the procurement team in order to manage the Alloy and production forecast. Special collaboration on scrap procurement.
  
  
  • Drive improvements in casthouse profitability through increased value added product production.
  
  
  • Create and implement improvements to the casting process in regards to key performance metrics and environment. Including maintaining alignment with the environment trends and keeping a sustainable operation.
  
  
  • Manage the operations of the Casthouses to produce cast products that meet customer specifications and are delivered within customer expectations (i.e. on time delivery).
  
  
  • Manage the capex process for the casthouse. Including special projects to maintain and improve the casting Pit and the furnaces.
  
  
  • Be a contributing member of the site Operations lead team.
  
  
  
  

Qualifications/Responsibilities

• Plant Manager ensures all key metrics are in place (safety, walk around, production & people aligned)


• Understanding of alloy mixtures
