Group/Division

The Global Service Support Organization (GSS) team headquartered in Milpitas, CA is our service organization that consists of Service Sales and Marketing, Spares Supply Chain management, Field Operations, Engineering, Product Training, and Technical Support. The GSS organization partners with our field teams and customers in all business sectors to maintain the high performance and productivity of our products through a flexible portfolio of services. Our comprehensive services include: proactive management of tools to identify and improve performance; expertise in optics, image processing and motion control with worldwide service engineers, 24/7 technical support teams and knowledge management systems; and an extensive parts network to ensure worldwide availability of parts.

The applications development engineer will be a key growth enabler forCandela product line of KLA Instruments Group. The new hire will support development of new products, provide sustaining support for existing products, andsupport pre/post sale activities. The applications development engineer will interface with all aspects of the organization, including engineering, operations, marketing, sales, and service. Based at KLA'soffice in Ann Arbor, USA,the applications development engineerwould besupporting customers worldwide.

The position requires the following responsibilities:


  • The candidate is required to develop an in-depth expertise in product operation, measurement applications, and customer processes.

  • Support for pre-sale activities that include product demos, product presentations, development of technical papers, and support at trade shows.

  • Support for post-sale activities that include customer training, customer support, understanding customer processes, and development of new use cases.

  • Support new product requirements, alpha (internal) testing, beta (external) testing, and development of product documentation.

  • Support for internal customers such as service, engineering, and operations.

Qualifications


  • Doctorate (Academic) OR Master's Level Degree with at least3 years of experience OR Bachelor's Level Degree with at least5 years of experience.

  • Degree in Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, Material Science or related field.

  • A background in IC processing OR Semiconductor equipment is strongly desirable.

  • Ability to perform complex data/image analysis using data-analysis tools.

  • Teamwork is critical so having a good balance between technical skills and people skills is a must.

  • Must have excellent communication, organizational, analytical, and interpersonal skills. Candidate will be required to frequently present results to internal as well as external customers.

  • Excellent English communication is required. Ability to speak Mandarin, Korean or Japanese is a plus, but not necessary.

  • This position requires candidates who are willing to travel up to 50% and international travel is required.

Minimum Qualifications

Doctorate (Academic), Master's Level Degree or work experience of 2 years , Bachelor's Level Degree or work experience of 3 years
