Kleinfelder is seeking a Dedicated Client Field Project Manager to provide project management and support services to a premier pipeline client. The candidate’s project focus will primarily be in the Oil & Gas sector, with an in-facility and integrity emphasis.
 
The Dedicated Client Field Project Manager is an essential role that will be provided to our client in initiating and delivering a wide range of projects they have been scheduled to start within the Northeast in 2021. The candidate will be expected to report to, and take direction directly from the client’s project management team. Expectations include coordinating with other engineers and technicians, Project Managers, contractors, regulators, and client stakeholders on projects primarily from Virginia to New Jersey, to safely deliver high quality on-schedule and on-budget Field Project Management services. This is a 6-month full-time engagement, with an opportunity to possibly extend based upon client needs.
 
Desired leadership skills and technical experience for this position include:

  • Assists delivery including initiating, planning, executing, monitoring, controlling, and closing projects, including assistance with client’s Project Development Process.

  • Assists in developing scopes of work, project budgets, work breakdown structures, schedules, quality management plans, and project staffing plans.

  • Assists in cost estimates including procurement of sub-consultants, sub-contractors, and other direct project costs.

  • Assists and coordinates internal project teams including technical resources and stake-holders. Conducts kick off, and periodic project progress meetings. Provides periodic project updates seeking input from others, as necessary.

  • Delegates work assignments appropriately and assists team members in resource sharing efforts. Facilitates collaboration between the facilities, contractors, and stakeholders.

  • Assists in the maintenance of project records, monitors project spends, coordinates with accounts payable, and conducts project close out activities.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with a collaborative and team-approach mentality.

  • Additional duties and responsibilities may be as but the client as necessary to fulfill this role. 


This is a 6-month full-time engagement, with an opportunity to possibly extend based upon client needs.

Required experience as follows:

  • 6-7 years of related experience.

  • 3-4 years of designated professional experience and knowledge of applicable laws and regulations.

  • 1-2 years of coordination/supervisory experience preferred. Experience demonstrating the ability to manage multi-disciplinary projects and engage a team of junior and mid-level civil engineers.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects, and teams directly for a client to deliver successful projects meeting the client and Kleinfelder expectations for delivery including safety, quality, scope, schedule and budget.

  • Periodic site visits (travel is anticipated primarily within the VA, MD, NJ areas) is required throughout construction activities to address problems and develop solutions real-time.

  • The ideal candidate should be able to demonstrate leadership, project management, and strong client relationships through project-focused examples.

  • AA or equivalent from two year college or technical school required. Bachelor’s degree preferred.


Preferred skill / qualifications:

  • Knowledge of process piping, tank and pipeline infrastructure, and safe construction practices.

  • OSHA Construction Safety and/or Hazwoper.

  • Working knowledge of DOT/PHMSA Regulations.

  • Hands on experience using work permit systems including hot work, confined space, work at heights, and excavation.

  • Project Management credentials such as the PMP are a plus.

  • Microsoft Project and schedule / project controls experience.

  • First Aid / CPR training.
