Job Description:

The Program Coordinator provides operational and administrative support to a program in the University. The Program Coordinator coordinates programs to ensure that implementation and prescribed activities are carried out in accordance with specified objectives. The Program Coordinator assists with recruitment, marketing, partnerships, program accreditation, strengthening relationships, event programming, and in some cases fundraising.

DUTIES


  1. Serves as program liaison for other departments, community advisors, partners, stakeholders, etc.

  2. Provides support to program leadership, including, but not limited to scheduling and other administrative functions

  3. Maintains the program budget to include various types of accounts/funds and coordinates contracts and various financial processes

  4. Performs database administration for the program and serves as administrator for the program and maintains program records, policies, procedures, etc.

  5. Provides assistance with program recruitment, admissions, etc.

  6. Coordinates program activities and events

  7. Prepare agendas and program workflow

  8. Managing registration processes

  9. Coordinates information packets

  10. Develops metrics and analytical data for programs activity and reviews and analyzes the data and submits reports

  11. Performs duties that are unique to specific department/program

MARGINAL DUTIES


  1. May need Obtains and stays abreast of governmental and other local agencies guidelines that may impact program activities

  2. May provide support to faculty

  3. May interact with other departments to promote the goals and objectives of the program

  4. May perform web design and posts social media announcements

  5. May ensures program objectives such as program accreditation are carried out and maintains program by-laws

  6. May require travel

  7. Performs duties that are unique to specific department/program

  8. Performs other duties as assigned

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Direct Reports: May supervise full time and part-time employees

Delegation of Work: May regularly assigns work to subordinate(s)

Supervision Given: May make a final decision on evaluating employee performance; hiring new employees; disciplinary actions; makes the final decision on scheduling employee work hours; makes the final decision on coaching and counseling; training; provides recommendations on handling employee grievances and complaints, and makes the final decision on granting time off

  1. Candidates must have strong analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as excellent interpersonal and communication skills

  1. Ability to handle multiple tasks concurrently and the ability to undertake a complex planning

  2. Ability to effectively communicate with a wide range of individuals and constituencies in a diverse community

  3. Ability to apply independently a wide variety of policies/procedures where specified guidelines may not exist

WORK LOCATION AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Primary Work Location: Works in an office environment

Physical Demands: Work is normally performed in a typical interior work environment that does not subject the employee to any unpleasant elements. The position is physically comfortable; the individual has discretion about walking (20%), standing (30%), sitting (50%), etc. Must be able to lift, carry and push up to 50 lbs. The work environment involves minimal exposure to physical risks.
