In this exciting role as a Research Manager leading the Signal Digitization group, you will have responsibility for developing a team of engineers and technicians to design and develop oximetry signal digitization technology.

PATIENT MONITORING AND RECOVERY focuses on improving outcomes associated with respiratory compromise, deep vein thrombosis, nutritional insufficiency, and healthcare associated infections.

A Day in the Life


  • You will lead a team of engineers and technicians to support oximetry product development and lifecycle maintenance

  • Your team's expertise will be oximetry signal digitization: developing HW controls for detecting small physiologic analog signals and amplifying and digitizing the signals

  • Your team will use data analysis and measurement instrumentation to enable design decisions

  • Your team will develop test and measurement systems to understand performance requirements and use cases

  • Your team will iterate on existing tools to incorporate and quantify system and environmental interactions

  • Your team will develop robust test methods using expertise in experimental methods, DOEs, instrumentation and simulation

Must Have: Minimum Requirements


  • Bachelors degree required
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience, or advanced degree with a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience

Nice to Have

  • Demonstrated strong systems and critical thinking
  • Experience developing and managing a team of engineers and/or technicians
  • Experience debugging systems/software/driver/firmware development and coding (C, C++, MATLAB, assembly language programming, etc.)
  • Strong hardware lab measurement and troubleshooting skills
  • Thorough understanding and wide application of technical principals, theories and concepts for medical devices
  • Demonstrated hands-on experience in technology and product development, i.e., taking design requirements from concept through final design
  • Experience with test method development, statistical analysis methods, and medical device quality and regulatory requirements
  • Expertise in design controls including requirements tracing and verification
  • General knowledge of related principals including electromechanical, tissue optics, physiological signals, etc.
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills with high attention to detail
  • Effective communication and presentation skills at all levels of the organization
  • Experience and capability of working with global and/or remote team members
  • Ability to work on concurrent projects and be able to successfully manage time and priorities
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical, Computer or Biomedical Engineering plus 10 years of experience
  • Master's Degree in Electrical, Computer or Biomedical Engineering plus 8 years of experience
