Operational Product Owner
-Understands operational aspects spanning systems integration and business capability enabling processes
-Can define an operational management framework which enables operational teams to efficiently manage environments
-Can articulate the workflow orchestration requirements to manage and sequence dependencies
-Can define and manage a roadmap of capabilities which streamline operations
-Can work with clients to adopt, refine, and advance operational capabilities
Responsibilities:
Performs market analysis and builds product plans
Gathers requirements from internal & external parties (clients, partners, vendors, etc.) and creates business requirement specifications
Prepares product impact assessment, reviews with engineering groups, estimates effort
Summarizes the task for wider internal & external reviews and funding decisions
Analyzes priorities, maintains the product calendar and works with engineering to ensure that development calendar is progressing according to plan
Creates functional specifications and reviews with relevant parties
Reviews development process on an ongoing basis
Demonstrates prototypes to interested parties, assesses usability
Reviews the QA and documentation process on an ongoing basis
Prepares product literature and placement strategy
May speak at public events or author industry articles as appropriate
Coordinates training and support resources
Requirements:
Ability to research, analyze and develop product plans to serve a diverse customer community
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Strong communication and inter-personal skills
Experience with managing Agile scrum teams (including multiple) with an eye towards triaging and project management on a cross-functional basis
Strong managerial and team management skillset
Significant experience in a front-office investment management capacity, either as part of a front-office solution team (internal or externally provided) and/or servicing the portfolio management, risk management, or execution trade desk capacity at a buy-side or sell-side organization.
Extensive experience with fixed income and fixed income related derivatives is a focus, while knowledge of equity/equity derivatives and FX specifics are also required
Ability to develop and manage cross functional processes and project timelines
Significant exposure to portfolio management, order management, compliance, and related buy-side software solutions
Understanding of the technology development lifecycle
Proven ability to do requirements analysis, functional design and user interface
Exposure to Exchange Traded Fund (ETFs) workflows
Specific knowledge of the investment industry (financial instruments, workflows, major players, trends, etc.)
Strong contributor with high motivation, with the ability to take initiative, set priorities and perform tasks with minimal guidance
Bachelor’s Degree in engineering, computer science, or equivalent, and/or other work experience in a technical setting
12+ years of experience
Qualifications:
Experience in either product management or systems analysis developing and delivering a multi-tier financial applications
Proven experience in managing development of similar products Technical and architectural experience (coding, architecture, tech design)
Consulting skills and experience
CFA preferred
