Description

As a Miller-Valentine Assistant Project Manager, you will assist in the overall administrative and technical direction of one or more projects. You will be responsible for specific portions of a construction project on a day-to-day basis. Assist the Superintendent in execution of projects with overview and guidance from the Senior Project Manager, Project Manager, Project Superintendent and the balance of the project team. Understand, communicate and ensure that the vision of the customer is met on each and every project. In addition, assist the project team in the pursuit of new projects.

Skills and Responsibilities

General:


  • Estimating assistance, quantity takeoff, bid solicitation, bid comparisons, estimate input, etc.

  • Scope change estimates

  • Bid form and specification writing

  • Shop drawing review

  • Create customer and project meeting notes

  • Assemble and review Operation and Maintenance (O&M) manuals/As-Built drawings prior to delivery

  • Create and maintain project schedules utilizing project scheduling software for review

  • Create conceptual designs utilizing Autocad for review

  • Assist Superintendent with the project execution

  • Support the project team during project pursuit

  • Continuous investigation for cost enhancement and process improvements

  • Create and maintain project documentation in order to develop business writing and speaking skills

  • Assist with project buy-out

Qualifications


  • Degree in an Engineering, Construction, or Architectural related degree from an accredited College or University or other related degree if supported by construction oriented course work or experience.

  • Proficient knowledge of Excel and Word. Working knowledge of estimating, project management and cost accounting principles and software is preferred.

  • Minimum two (2) years demonstrated successful construction experience required.

  • Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office are required.

  • Strong time management, detail oriented, and excellent communication skills are required.

  • Prior experience in the construction execution of office, manufacturing, industrial or distribution projects preferred.
