Operations Mgmt - Production Manager 

 

 

Job Title:                                 Production Supervisor

FLSA Status:                           Exempt                        

Reports To:                             Operations Manager

Location:                                 Orlando, FL

                                  

 

Summary: Responsible for the management of the production portion of the plant including fresh and frozen production meat warehousing, inventory, production planning, throughput and yields, and maintenance.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following.  Other duties may be assigned. 

 


  • Recruit, train, and manage the production/packaging department including leads and all cutting and packaging employees.

  • Successfully oversee the work and output of the production/packaging department on a daily basis

  • Lead, develop and maintain a safety program aimed at hitting our safety goal and reducing injuries and accidents including 100% execution of safety training.

  • Manage production/packaging labor costs including overtime allocation and need.

  • Staff location headcount target and headcount FTE’s to plan levels.


  • Eliminate waste (breakage, OOD, shrink).

  • Achieve fulfillment rate.


  • Assure on-going communication with other departments including purchasing, sales, warehouse, transportation as needed.

  • Assure proper staffing for all shifts and coach and develop production/packaging leads

  • Assist with assuring inventory tracking of products on an on-going basis.

  • Ensure that the most cost effective decisions are made with regard to all day to day production operations costs.

  • Manage the collection and analysis of all yield data. 


  • Act, as needed, as an operations liaison with other departments.

  • Develop, research, and recommend any cost savings programs relative to operations costs.

  • Learn and assist with our HACCP plan, OSHA and FDA guidelines as well.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

·       College degree preferred  

·       3 plus years production/packaging management experience in a meat processing facility is desired

·       Excellent analytical, organizational and  problem solving skills

·       Good supervisory, interpersonal and communication skills.
