Accessibility Technical Lead - Full-time - Potsdam, NY

Primary Function


The Technical Lead will provide accessibility knowledge to services contracts including but not limited to Software as a Service (SAAS), Accessible Application Development and technical depth to the Document Accessibility Service (DAS) organization. The primary role for this position is main technical contact for the Accessible Application Development team, application development and support the daily operational activities.


Major Duties and Responsibilities


LEAD:



  • Be the main point of contact for the Application Development Team for technical questions.

  • Assist PMs, CSRs or Operations Lead on technical data reviews and project updates.

  • Provide Technical Accessibility Manager Analyst staff updates on technical skills.

  • Provide guidance to Technical Accessibility Manager and Operations Lead on Analyst staff capabilities and project assignments.


DEVELOPMENT:



  • Be knowledgeable of alternate format rules, guidelines, and standards in adherence to industry, governed, and Crawford Technologies standards.

  • Be knowledgeable of proprietary software, ICF, INI and processing files.

  • Maintain a high level of technical skill by learning new products and diagnostic tools.

  • Resolve customer technical application issues by obtaining information, identifying the problem, and utilizing available tools and resources.

  • Maintaining version control for applications and CTI transforms on DAS test and production servers.

  • Communicate any application requirement changes to appropriate Accessibility Analyst team and production team members.

  • Perform project requirement analysis, time estimates, design specifications, file transfer requirements.

  • Assist the Operations Lead/Project Coordinator/Customer Service Representative with customer technical relationships.

  • Build, test, debug, document and maintain all automated DAS customer production applications.

  • Build/modify automated DAS customer production applications from detailed specifications and/or samples provided by the customer.

  • Provide training and knowledge transfer to Accessibility Team staff as required.

  • Manage incident tickets with development via support as required.

  • Assist in post-sales support.


OPERATIONS:



  • Primary contact for addressing and correcting operational application processing errors or failures ensuring customer SLA's are met.

  • Provide technical expertise as required to co-workers in the facility in all aspects of the day-to-day.

  • Production and Processing operational activities as required.


REQUIREMENTS


EXPERIENCE:



  • Technical management of Accessibility Now transforms (MUST HAVE).

  • Technical advisory role to Application Analysts (MUST HAVE).

  • Previous project management experience required (MUST HAVE).

  • Customer relationships experience preferred.

  • Alternate format industry standards.

  • Alternate format requirements (Braille, Large Print, Audio, & E-Text, Accessible PDF, Accessible and Responsive HTML).

  • Alternate format DAS customer specific requirements.

  • Knowledge of WCAG Guidelines and PDF/UA Standard (MUST HAVE).

  • SAAS customer specific requirements.

  • Understanding of alternate format production.

  • MasterOne application design (Accessibility Now Transactional) (MUST HAVE).

  • Extensive knowledge of Accessibility Now Designer (MUST HAVE).

  • Accessibility Now Publisher.

  • Rexx knowledge.

  • Print stream knowledge.

  • Extensive knowledge of INI and ICF creation, maintenance (MUST HAVE).

  • Testing of audio lexicon additions.

  • XML Starlet use and application.

  • Strong Analytical Skills (MUST HAVE).



EDUCATION



  • Typically requires a BA/BS or equivalent and a minimum of 3+ years of experience in a technical field are preferred.
