As a Printed Circuit Assembly (PCA) Layout Designer, your primary responsibilities will include working side by side with R&D and Manufacturing to create or modify printed circuit board layouts and to release the layouts for prototyping and production. You will work with state-of-the-art tools to complete a wide variety of layout work, and have the opportunity to influence the future path of the Agilent designs and tools in a very dynamic, collaborative and casual work environment at a major Agilent site, located outside of Wilmington Delaware (in the vicinity of Philadelphia Pennsylvania).


Responsibilities:



  • Layout of new printed circuit boards & assemblies, working directly with the R&D designers in most cases. Also modifying & revising released PCAs when change is required.

  • PCB & PCA design data release, data migration/transfer, and data post-processing for release to doc control systems.

  • Provision of DFX (design for Manufacturability/Testability/Reliability) using industry standard guidelines.

  • Collaborating with internal customers: communicating & working with R&D, procurement and other Agilent departments.

  • Testing new layout tools, methods and processes before release for general use.

  • Project management to plan, track and complete multiple layout jobs in parallel.

Qualifications

Required qualifications:



  • Minimum 5 years of PCB/PCA layout experience using Xpedition ECAD tools including xDx Designer, xPCB Layout from Mentor Graphics, VX2.6 version and above.

  • Experience working with the Constraint Editor System (CES).

  • 2-year technical degree or equivalent experience/education.

  • Proficiency in high speed digital, analog and mixed signal layout techniques.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Collaboration skills, including working remotely with others around the globe.

  • Some experience with DFM (Design For Manufacturability) and DFT (Design for Testability) design checking tools.

  • Some knowledge of PCB technology, board stacks, key performance factors, risks & tradeoffs. Knowledge of board fab processes is a plus.

  • Comfortable with new digital solutions; online savvy; strong computer skills are a must.

  • Project management mentality & skills -- ability to keep multiple jobs moving forward and under control with excellent quality results.

  • Naturally inclined to setup, follow & carry out procedures and process-based workflows.

  • Conversant with product structuring (e.g. BOMs), part numbering and change control. Experience with engineering change orders is a plus.


Preferred qualifications:



  • PCB/PCA test methods, including associated test equipment & programming.

  • Knowledge of basic Statistics.

  • Experience with quality control, inspections, quality reviews, including technical/design review participation.

  • Work experience using Agile PDM, SAP or other ERP, PLM or PDM systems.
