The Licensed HVAC Technician will participate in the preventive, predictive and corrective maintenance as well as the installation and inspection of HVAC systems and associated processes
Job Description
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Other duties may be assigned. Management also reserves the right to change or modify this position description from time to time to meet the needs of the site and/or buildings(s)
Performs daily and periodic tasks in assigned areas as directed
Ensures all site safety work permits as defined within the Safety Program and the work orders are acknowledged and adhered to
Performs extensive troubleshooting of all site-wide HVAC and associated Process Equipment, Plant Utility and Facility Refrigeration Systems, Air Handlers, Supply Air Systems, Exhaust Systems, Cooling and Heating Coils
Analyzes problems and identifies corrective measures
Interprets and updates mechanical plans and prints as necessary
Provides responsive customer support with emphasis on customer satisfaction
Assists and advises customer on maintenance solutions and provides follow-up on progress and status of work
Works independently under the guidance and direction of Management and/or Lead
Maintains a professional, safe and clean work area
Complies with OSHA Safety Policies and Regulations
On call responsibilities required on a rotating basis to cover for any off hour emergencies
Assists in the proper operation of the Preventive Maintenance Program
Completes maintenance work orders in a timely manner
Ensures environmental procedures and issues are being followed through the direction of the customer's environmental specialist representative.
Assists in reviewing and engineering, with the customer representative(s), any plans or specifications for additional maintenance, construction and renovations.
Extensive knowledge of building mechanical/electrical infrastructure.
Regular attendance at the client's facility
REQUIREMENTS (Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Education and/or Experience):
Must hold a Journeyperson's license from the Commonwealth of Massachusetts
Minimum experience: 5 years of Field Experience, trade school or apprenticeship
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Ability to communicate with multiple disciplines - both technical and non-technical
Knowledge of cooling tower water chemistry and control systems
Advanced knowledge of heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration systems
Knowledge of Building Management Systems (BMS) - Metasys, etc.
Knowledge of CGMP industry requirements
Proficient in central plant record keeping, data analysis and computerized maintenance management systems
Familiar with the Microsoft office suite in order to prepare reports, format spread sheets and communicates by email
Competency in Permit Requiring Confined Space
Highly focused on customer satisfaction expectations
Good documentation and record keeping
Understanding of and strict adherence to daily Job Hazard Analysis (JHA)
OSHA 10 certification
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Ability to lift 25lbs frequently, 50lbs occasionally
Climb and work off of ladders and aerial lifts safely
Observant which requires seeing, hearing, and smelling
