JobDescription:

Responsible for assisting in the overall coordination of the Medical Staff/Hospital-wide Performance Improvement activities. Maintains records and Performance Improvement documentation to support credentialing. Assists with the coordination of Hospital-wide PI Teams. Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):


  • Completes evaluations of patient care using approved indicators and established parameters.

  • Documents review findings as per hospital/department standards.

  • Assists in the review process of interdisciplinary monitoring and evaluation that integrates the patient assessment function.

  • Works with the Director of Quality Management in developing organizational wide action plans for specific reporting parameters that are based on the organizations standards for patient assessment.

  • Assists the Quality Management Administrative Assistant in the composition of letters and memos of actions taken by the Medical Staff Committees as needed and reviews appropriate committee meeting minutes for accuracy.

  • Accurately maintains physician specific information. Maintains a profile of review activities for each physician and works with the medical staff coordinator in tracking the activity. Prepares this information for credentialing.

  • Communicates to supervisor problem issues or potential problem cases within 24 hours.

  • Complies with the Medical Record Department's procedures in requesting and returning records for retrospective review.

  • Assists with the Quality Improvement Orientation Education to employees and assists with providing education to hospital staff on Performance Improvement as assigned by the Director.

  • Participates in CQI teams as requested as team member, facilitator, or team leader and participates in patient tracers as requested.


Qualifications


  • Associate's Degree required; Bachelor's Degree preferred

  • RN or LPN license preferred

  • Knowledge of Word Processor software

  • CPHQ Certification preferred but not required

  • 1-3+ years of Quality Management experience from a hospital setting required
