Job Description:

Position Summary:

The Samples Technician/Shipping Coordinator will be responsible for managing all aspects of the Samples Program, supporting the development and growth of all Borchers' brands of products. This position will be expected to manage sample inventory levels, fulfill sample requests in a timely and efficient manner, and ship materials within regulatory guidelines.

Essential Functions:

* Accurately weigh, measure, and fill the sample request in accordance with the processed order and transportation guidelines

* Handle chemicals in accordance with the SDS

* Properly Package, Label, and Ship samples globally via FedEx or DHL in accordance with DOT, IATA, and/or ICAO requirements

* Prepare all documentation necessary for export sample shipments, including Dangerous Goods Declaration, Commercial Invoice, and any other related requirements to ensure timely delivery

* Manage and maintain an accurate Inventory of all chemicals by placing orders as needed, and logging usage and received material in the SAP system

* Order and maintain adequate supply of Packaging and Shipping Materials

* Consistently ensure a safe, clean, and organized work environment, both in Chemical Storage Area and the Samples Lab

* Ensure PPE is utilized.

* Maintain proper electronic and hard copy files/documentation of all DG shipments, per management requirements and Federal regulations

* Effectively communicate constraints and inventory availability internally to Customer Service, Sales, Technical, Marketing

* Maintain a positive attitude and professional demeanor throughout all business dealings

* Other duties as assigned

Preferred Position Qualifications:

* Bachelor's Degree, OR Associate Degree and minimum 3 years of related work experience in Chemical and/or DG Shipping Environment

* Experience with DOT Has. Mat. Reg. 49 CFR, parts 171-180

* Experience with IATA DG regulations and ICAO technical instructions

* Experience with classifying/determining Limited Quantity, Excepted Quantity, and marking/labeling Special Packaging

* Experience shipping DG using DHL and FedEx software a plus

* Experience with Export documentation and INCO terms a plus

* SAP knowledge preferred

* High work ethic, self-directed, organized, and detail oriented - a must

* Excellent Communication, Problem Solving, and Decision-Making skills

* Must be Microsoft Office proficient in Word, Excel, and Outlook
