Technical Lead - Full Stack Developer at Chubb in Whitehouse Station, New Jersey

Job Description:

We are looking for a Lead Full Stack Developer to join Chubb’s PRS business line to support the transformational journey towards APIs and user experience solutions. This role will be 70% hands on development with 30% Team Lead responsibilities. This individual will be partnering with architects and technical leads from other functional areas as well as playing the role of a technical lead for a group of developers. You will be required to bring the team together and drive development standards and work to deliver quality software. You will also get the opportunity to lead and influence technical directions in a collaborative way. Good communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills are a must for this position. The ideal candidate will also have a combination of strong technical and leadership skills.

Position Summary

• Technical Lead responsible for implementation of MicroServices and internal / external B2B APIs using Spring Boot / Apache Camel


• Debug and resolve any challenges with the applications


• Involvement in full development life cycle. Design, Coding, test, build, QA, deployment and maintenance.


• Excellent trouble shooting and problem-solving skills


• Influence/encourage team to build solutions with quality and aligned to architecture guidelines.


• Work with business partners to understand functional requirements and translate into consumable technical stories

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related field.


• Technical Lead responsible for design and implementation of MicroServices / APIs and reactive front-end Single Page Applications in Angular


• 
  6+ years of experience as hands-on developer who is responsible to code MicroServices using Spring Boot that can be deployed on any cloud platform like Azure, AWS, Spring Cloud


• Full Stack Developer who is responsible to code Enterprise Software Applications using Spring Boot, Java/J2EE, DB2 / Oracle, Javascript, Docker, Kubernetes and Azure / AWS. 


• Experience in development of REST based APIs using Open API Specification and/or creating specifications w/Swagger


• Cloud experience with Azure / AWS and experience in configuring Dev-Ops / continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines using Git, Jenkins, Maven


• Design database model, Optimize database performance by fine-tuning SQL queries and creating indexes. Develop and maintain PL/SQL Packages, Stored Procedures, Triggers, and Functions in DB2 / Oracle


• Develop Unit Test cases and improve test coverage for existing code bases


• Perform complex troubleshooting of critical problem tickets, resolving defects in existing production software and provide root-cause analysis


• Hands-on experience working with Code Quality and Code Coverage tools/frameworks (e.g. SonarQube, IBM AppScan)


• Understanding of how to secure Web Applications and APIs using OpenID/OAuth2.0 standards.


• Understanding of how to Migrate applications to Server-less Architecture, which are scalable and Secure.


• Experience in containerizing the applications using Docker & Kubernetes.


• Experience in creating technical specification, software architecture, testing plan, release and deployment documents.


• Demonstrated ability to perform code change management by creating branches, merging and software releases using GIT Version Control system.


• Experience in processing Large sets of data using Spring Batch Framework and familiarity with ELK stack for logging


• Experience in coding Single Page Web Applications using Angular and Spring Boot / NodeJS


• Excellent written/verbal skills and demonstrated ability to meet commitments under pressure


• Works successfully in a team environment and independently as required
