A Day in the Life

As the Strategic Sourcing Program Manager will support the Supply Management team utilizing project management/analytic skills: planning & coordinating, communicating, influencing, achieving milestones, resolving issues and managing risks.

You will:

  • Provide project management and sourcing expertise to cross-functional, cross-divisional, and corporate teams.

  • Manage various key Medtronic programs for the General Surgery and Market Access Group (Supplier Relationship Management, Responsible Sourcing, Supplier Diversity, employee recognition etc.)

  • Partner with the manufacturing sites and sourcing teams to optimize the supply chain by providing the leadership needed to ensure all supplier managed inventory (SMI) objectives are met.

  • Provide needed support to various sourcing process improvement initiatives and the supplier optimization program.

  • Provide analytical support and analysis of the supply base to support key projects and initiatives for Category Management and other functional Sourcing groups.

    Must Have: Minimum Requirements



    • Bachelors degree required
    • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience, or advanced degree with a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience

    Nice to Have



    • A minimum of 7 years related experience working in supply chain operations, finished medical device, or related industry with manufacturing processes, operational excellence, and continuous improvement activities utilizing analytics
    • Supply Chain methodologies with strong analytical skills
    • Six Sigma Green Belt and/or Lean certification, DMAIC methodology preferred
    • Project management methodologies preferred
    • Leadership, project management, and communication skills
    • Managing by influence and relationship management
    • Strong problem solving and analytical skills
    • Innovative, passionate and able to inspire people at all levels of the organization
    • Ability to lead and manage multiple projects and collaborating across the matrix
    • Ability to foster change, promote and implement sustainable improvements
    • Excellent interpersonal, presentation and facilitation skills
    • Advance skills with various software packages; Microsoft (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Microsoft Project, Visio and preferably Minitab
    • Experience in Medical Device
