POSITION SUMMARY:
The Engineering Project Controls Manager will work in a TS cleared environment helping our client with oversight and overall management of assigned design, technical specifications and pricing and estimating of projects. The general responsibilities of the Architect and Project Controls Manager are as follows, to include but not limited to:
Design, technical review and manage new building and renovation projects from conceptual design to execution
Attend regular and special project meetings as required
Create, manage and update project reports and communications
Create, manage and maintain all project filings, record-keeping and documentation systems
Provide overall project management functionality including, monitor and control of project specs, communications across project stakeholders, and to ensure process flow and deadlines are met
During the design phases will provide design and technical review, code compliance review, constructability review, engineering and proposal analysis, preparation and cost estimation/cost analysis, as well as manage cost control, cost monitoring, site investigations, site surveys, multiple project scheduling, and review of design scope changes
During the construction phases, will manage, monitor and recommend approval/disapproval of project's submittals, review and monitor project's tasks and schedules, with key deliverables and milestone completion reporting
During the project close-out phase, manage post-occupancy evaluations, prepare close-out reviews (e.g., lessons learned), complete and finalize all accounting and financial account reports, develop implementing for move-in and move-out transition plans
Ability to document, maintain and prepare for collaboration with others project management teams, government contractors, or the construction contractors.
REQUIRED SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS:
BA or BS degree in Architecture, Engineering, or technical fields
6+ years of experience in architecture, engineering or other related technical fields
Must have 6+ years with industry project software to include, AutoCAD, Primavera, Revit, Prolog, Microsoft Project, and Microsoft Office suite
Must have experience producing technical drawings with AutoCAD
5+ years Project Management experience in commercial construction development required
Must be knowledgeable of construction disciplines, to include civil, architectural, mechanical, electrical and electronic engineering and information technology principles.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Project Management Professional (PMP)
Certified Construction Manager (CCM)
Broad-based understanding of project management with strong planning, problem solving, and organizational skills
Ability to train new contract employees on processes and procedures and core requirements of the program
Experience coordinating with Architects, Engineers and Design and Construction teams
Security Clearance: Top Secret
PHYSICAL/MANUAL REQUIREMENTS:
Duties and tasks may require some physical requirements to include:
Ability to move safely over uneven terrain or confined spaces
Ability to wear personal protective gear correctly
Ability to climb, pull, push, carry items as part of daily engineering work
