The digital marketing specialist drives the online marketing activities of the group within the framework of a 4-person team. Working closely with a designer, a content writer, and the product marketing manager, you’ll directly lead the charge on the SEO & paid advertising fronts. You’ll also have a peripheral role in content marketing, email, social media, partnerships, and other marketing activities. In a sentence, you’re a digital marketing ace with a contagious enthusiasm for advertising and a relentless work ethic.

A Day in the Life

If you prefer a repetitive Groundhog Day lifestyle, being able to flip on your “robot mode” switch as soon as you walk in the door, then this is not the place for you. Every day is a little different for the DMS, and you’ll need to be agile and take things on as they come. With that disclaimer, a “typical” day will include collaboration meetings with your team to strategize & develop plans for future campaigns, report on current campaigns, and assess the outcomes of completed campaigns. You’ll spend time each day within Google, Facebook, and Bing Ads managing the accounts you care for. This includes creating ads, monitoring performance, and making adjustments as needed. You’ll also spend time developing plans for and monitoring the SEO efforts of your team. On any given day this might include compiling organic ranking reports, checking traffic and other organic metrics, performing audits, doing keyword research, creating detailed content requests, and other SEO tasks. As needed, you’ll be involved in analyzing both paid and organic competitors. Many days will present opportunities to help out with various tasks that may not clearly fall on any single individual’s plate, and random skills may be utilized such as SQL knowledge, basic coding skills, fluency in another language, and the list goes on. In short, you’ll have the opportunity to hone many skills and contribute in multiple ways. 

What You Need to Succeed

You should have a solid working knowledge of major ad platforms, a firm understanding of SEO, and a basic familiarity with content marketing, email, and social media. You will be able to identify target audiences and devise engaging campaigns. You’ll need the ability to oversee a project from conception to implementation to reporting and analysis in collaboration with the other members of your team. You should have a flair for data analysis and for using the numbers as a guide to success. Speaking of numbers, you should be able to identify and track KPIs and analyze outcomes in order to assess what worked and what didn’t. Taking into account past outcomes, future forecasts, market research, etc, you should be able to develop business cases and project plans designed around meeting SMART goals. You should be willing and hungry to expand your horizons as a marketer, and skill development ought to be a priority. Being a team player is a must, as others will depend heavily on you (and vice versa) as the team strives for success in each marketing initiative.

Work Schedule

You’ll be expected to put in your 40 hours weekly, although flexibility may be possible regarding in and out times. Working with your manager, you’ll figure out a schedule that justifies maximum team efficiency and collaboration with your personal preferences and lifestyle.

Requirements


  • 1-2 years experience in a similar or related role

  • Proficiency with analytics tools (Google Analytics preferred) 

  • Project management skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously

  • A burning desire to learn

  • A cooperative, helpful, and hardworking attitude

  • Willingness to understand the world of insurance and insurance marketing

Preferred Skills and Experience


  • Experience managing successful content & social media campaigns is a plus

  • Working knowledge of various marketing tools (e.g Moz, SEMRush, etc.) 

  • Practical SEO experience




Salary:

$50,000.00
