Required Qualifications:
Ph.D. in virology, immunology, molecular biology or related field
A minimum of 2 years of postdoctoral research experience in advanced studies of virology, molecular biology, biochemistry, or immunology
Progressively responsible independent research experience in virology, immunology, and molecular biology
Extensive proficiency with each of the following:
Molecular biology, including PCR, cloning, site-directed mutagenesis, and advanced techniques to evaluate gene expression of HIV-1 infected immune cells
Virological assays including viral infection assays, generating and titrating viral stocks
Western blotting
Flow cytometry and immunostaining
Working experience with each of the following:
Isolation of primary CD4 T-cells or CD14 monocytes from the blood cells
Cell culture (cell lines and primary cells)
Retroviral transduction and lentiviral infection
Immunofluorescence or confocal microscopy
Desirable Qualifications:
Working experience with each of the following:
Experience in basic HIV research
Recombinant protein purification
Working experience with big data sets generated during the course of virology and immunology experiments
Basic bioinformatics including the use of online database and resources
Analysis of RNAseq data
RNA biology
