This position includes production of machined parts by programming, setting up, and operating a computer numerical control (CNC) machine. This position requires management skills that instill a positive and hard working environment with CNC Operators. Close communication with the lead CNC Operator to plan and adjust as necessary is essential to achieving an efficient work flow. The position is very hands on and requires an emphasis on Safety. Keeping records, maintaining equipment, and sustaining an orderly work area is essential. This position reports to the Lead CNC Operator.
KEY RESPONSIBILITES:
Clear communication and leadership with CNC Operators to continuously improve work flow
Setting up and operating CNC lathes and CNC mills
This includes programming components
Performing quality checks and make machine offsets as necessary
Performing first piece approval quality checks including using Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance (GD&T)
Reading and understand engineering prints and diagrams
Working with others on special projects outside of regular work flow
Maintaining areas of work to 6S standards
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Plant environment with outside loading and unloading of trucks
Rapidly changing demands, schedules, and deadlines
Majority of the day on your feet
Extended use of telephone and computer
Working with hazardous materials, including fuels, lubricants, drilling fluids, and batteries while wearing the proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
6am - 3pm working hours, Monday - Friday
Overtime as necessary
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Technical degree in CNC machining or matched experience
Preferred 5+ years of experience in a machining environment
Ability to use precision tools and measuring equipment such as calipers, micrometers, torque wrenches and tape measures
Ability to be certified to operate a forklift
Ability to work quickly and efficiently with large machinery and equipment
