JOB SUMMARY
Assist in the operating a Class IV water treatment plant.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Produce potable water in accordance with all state and federal regulations.
Assist with inspection, testing, sampling, and monitoring of the distribution water system to ensure compliance with federal and state requirements.
Assist with writing, reviewing, analyzing and preparing a variety of records, reports, correspondence and other data.
Assist in maintaining records, compile data, and generate reports.
Oversite of all backflow prevention related duties.
Conduct water analysis tests to ensure safety and water quality by collecting representative water samples and testing for contaminants and properties.
Conduct bacteriological sampling and field testing using standard techniques.
Assist with samples of the water distribution system and wells to determine compliance with federal and local regulations.
Test water samples for chlorine, conductivity, temperature, Volatile Organic Chemicals (VOC), Synthetic Organic
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; One year experience in Water System operation.
CERTIFICATES
NC CDL Class B drivers licenses
Forklift operator certificate
Class I operator's certification by the state Health Department and actively pursue a Class IV certification.
Currently has minimum of one of the following C-Well, C-Distribution or Cross Connection Certifications, willing to obtain all within agreed time frame.
Must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
