What we're looking for:

Intuitive is seeking a strategic Corporate Marketing Leader who will coach and develop a team of marketers to build out global marketing capabilities that take a complex, multifaceted portfolio of systems, digital, learning and service solutions for various healthcare audiences and develop integrated marketing plans and campaigns that drive awareness and adoption of the Intuitive product portfolio. The Corporate Portfolio Marketing Leader should be adept at leadership talent development, organizational design, creating regional portfolio solutions and strategies, aligning cross-functional teams to attain target revenue goals.

As a member of the Marketing Leadership team, the successful candidate will work closely with the product, corporate audience and regional commercial marketing teams to develop a holistic approach and comprehensive messaging and go to market strategies of Intuitive's full product portfolio and ecosystem.

Intuitive needs a collaborative Product Portfolio Marketing leader who can communicate cross functionally the regional opportunities within the marketplace so the sales, marketing, healthcare economics, market access, custom analytics, professional education, and other development teams continue to build solutions and messaging that customers will value in market.

Primary responsibilities include:


  • Develop compelling product portfolio messaging, content and commercial assets to be used across multiple marketing channels to help drive trial and acquisition of target customers.
  • Integrate disparate product positioning into integrated marketing plans and campaigns, to drive awareness and adoption of the entire Intuitive portfolio (around a "whole product" solution) in alignment with business goals (TAM/SAM/SOM, procedure opportunities and priorities).
  • Establish ownable and repeatable messaging in alignment with corporate brand that sets Intuitive products, learning solutions and services apart from the marketplace and provide unique differentiation.
  • Establish and standardize upstream process to collect and synthesize product data from Business Units for claims generation; ensure proof points and claims support QTI/BAM framework and value-based marketing initiatives.
  • Collaborate with Product Management teams to provide product requirement feedback and product and claim gaps based on customer and regional feedback.
  • Develop global portfolio messaging, claims, collateral and tool kits for corporate audience and regional portfolio marketing teams.
  • Collaborate with marketing operations and market intelligence teams to ensure tracking and measurement of portfolio messaging, content and integrated marketing campaigns effectiveness.
  • Collaborate with audience marketing to transform marketing messaging from a feature/benefits communication to customer centric problem/solution narrative with, data driven outcomes in unconventional ways, thereby driving customer adoption.
  • Oversee the development and execution of product portfolio marketing campaigns to build awareness and drive global demand.
  • Facilitate roll-out of product messaging to regional product marketing teams.
  • Develop a comprehensive product ecosystem messaging strategy that resonates with our key customer groups. Partner with product management teams to distill key functionality and benefits into differentiated product messaging.
  • Develop the strategy and execution plan to communicate the value proposition of the product portfolio to the commercial teams and develop the marketing assets and tools that support the selling process.
  • Lead marketing campaigns as the product portfolio subject matter expert to amplify product messaging through digital, social, ad/media to reach key market segments.

Monitor and evaluate competitive, emerging and complementary technologies and their messaging/positioning in relation to Intuitive's Ecosystem. Drive the engagement with the Product Management leaders to establish a continuous feedback loop (encompassing market trends, customer needs, and competitive messaging) to influence the product roadmap, feature gaps and customer requests.

Core Competencies, Skills and Experience Requirements:


  • 15+ years of well-rounded marketing experience in positions of increasing responsibility, with a focus on market expansion and identifying emerging market trends.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Product Management, Product Marketing, or related discipline required with a history of defining and launching successful products and programs in a therapeutic medical device company. Surgical and/or OR experience desired.
  • Proven ability to effectively build a product brand, position and communicate product value.
  • Experience in developing strong commercial and KOL partnerships to inform a value-driven portfolio narrative.
  • Capacity to learn new technical skills and build clinical acumen.
  • Ability to take complex technologies and simplify learning to be understood across a broad customer base.
  • Demonstrated ability to work creatively amidst competing priorities to deliver high-impact marketing programs on-time and within budget to support overall marketing strategy and business objectives.
  • Superior verbal/written communication, teamwork, and interpersonal skills to work across multiple functions and stakeholders.
  • Proven, commercial leadership experience within large, matrixed, technology and/or medical device or healthcare companies.
  • Demonstrated success navigating complex business environments and driving efficient and effective execution.
  • Expertise using voice of customer and real time data insights to clarify and amplify a unique position within the market.
  • Exceptional leadership skills with deep business acumen with proven ability to inspire and build effective relationships with C-suite, peers, and to attract and retain a marketing team by leading with inclusion and diversity that will motivate people to produce their best work.
  • Strong data-driven leader with deep expertise in reporting, project management, performance analysis, and prioritization skills.
  • Demonstrated success leading the change management efforts required when introducing new processes and evolving the capabilities of an organization.
  • BS/BA Degree Required
  • MBA Preferred

If Sr Director, Additional Requirements

  • 18+ years of well-rounded marketing experience in positions of increasing responsibility, with a focus on market expansion and identifying emerging market trends.
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in Product Management, Product Marketing, or related discipline required with a history of defining and launching successful products and programs in a therapeutic medical device company.
  • Provide strategic insights into Corporate marketing annual LRM process
  • Work on organizational design, succession planning, and talent development strategy with the VP, Corporate Commercial Marketing
  • Considerable experience and comfort with building rational strategies and defending your ideas with evidence to influence key c-suite, clinical, and economic decision makers.
  • Demonstrated success leading the change management efforts required when introducing new processes and evolving the capabilities of an organization.
