Contract Review Insurance Advisor

We are looking for talented professionals to join the growing Contract Review department based in our Austin office as a Contract Review Insurance Advisor.
What can you expect?
You will be an essential part of a highly-skilled team, directly advising clients and collaborating with other Marsh subject matter experts as necessary, to complete an insurance-focused review of contractual insurance requirements.
Contract Review Insurance Advisors identify and extract pertinent insurance information from contracts, determine implicated coverage lines, and perform a comparative analysis of the client's relevant policies and respective contractual requirements so as to provide appropriate guidance to the client.
The ideal candidate will have experience in an advisory role, be well-versed in insurance terminology, and possess a high degree of attention to detail. This position has no supervisory responsibilities and no direct reports.

We will count on you to:
Review, interpret, and analyze contractual requirements regarding insurance, and compare against the insurance policies of designated Marsh clients for the purpose of determining whether the insured possesses the required coverage and limits of liability
Review, interpret, and analyze commercial insurance policies for the purpose of determining whether the insured maintains the contractually required coverage and limits of liability
Advise clients (and fellow Marsh colleagues, as necessary) on contract provisions related to insurance, providing recommendations and guidance as necessary, exercising independent professional judgment
Provide guidance to the Certificates team on certificates of insurance issued in connection with contractual requirements, when needed
Remain current by understanding and following all Marsh compliance, professional and transparency standards
Actively seek out opportunities to develop and expand your own knowledge, as well as the knowledge of fellow Contract Review colleagues
Actively seek out opportunities to create and improve standard processes
Exercise discretion and good judgment, with minimal supervision
Devote a moderate amount of time, as necessary, to self-study and research with respect to a variety of insurance-related issues and topics
Maintain an active Texas P&C license by participating in Continuing Education classes
What you need to have:
Bachelor's degree
Texas P&C license required at the time of hire, or the ability to obtain a Texas P&C license within 30 days of hire
5-7 years of insurance, legal, financial services, or related industry experience (claims management, risk management, client management, insurance broking, contract review, etc.)
Proficient in Microsoft Office tools - Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and Excel
Proficient with PDF editing software
Excellent organization skills - ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines
Skilled at navigating complex and difficult scenarios, and providing appropriate guidance with discretion and good judgment
A self-starter, with the ability to work autonomously and make well-reasoned decisions
Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing
Outstanding interpersonal skills - ability to work within a team and with colleagues at all levels
Familiarity with common insurance and legal terminology and concepts
Experience drafting, revising, interpreting, or reviewing contracts
Demonstrated proficiency with reviewing and interpreting multiple types of commercial insurance policies, including Commercial General Liability and other casualty or property coverages
Extensive customer service experience
Ability to effectively communicate complex insurance concepts to others
Experience issuing or reviewing certificates of insurance
